Bodies, Working Groups and Committees

While the DVV Executive Board sets down the principles and guidelines of the DVV work, the operational and strategic work is done by committees and working groups.

Important committees and working groups at a glance

The Organisation and Finance Committee (OFA) consists of the representatives from the directors of the VHS (AEC) State Associations. They develop recommendations on key issues of the association's work and advise the Board in organisation and association matters.

With the Women's Committee, the DVV documents that it assigns a high priority to the task of gender equity.

The DVV Advisory Council advises the Board and Members Council about basic questions and challenges which are of particular importance for the development of further education and the work of the Adult Education Centres in Germany and at the European level.

In order to bind technical work closer together in the DVV, representatives from DVV full members are sent to working groups in the areas of

• Employment and occupation,
• Training, consulting, quality development,
• Health,
• Basic education, literacy and education attainment,
• Culture,
• Politics and environment as well as
• Languages.

The directors of the Adult Education Centres meet every year in the Adult Education Centres’ working group for large metropolitan areas, in the national conference of Adult Education Centres for mid-sized metropolitan areas or the national conference of Adult Education Centres working at a regional level.

In addition to these regularly convened committees, the DVV creates temporary task forces which deal with current issues of paramount importance.
